| Our volunteers come from all walks of life and provide a variety of assistance to the hospital. Hours and assignments reflect the availabiility and interest of the volunteer. Junior volunteers are also welcome in our summer program and school-related programs during the year. To volunteer, email: or call 610-270-2437. Opportunities to volunteer include:
Admissions - Escort new patients to their rooms.
Central Supply - Package and wrap sterile supplies and deliver supplies.
Clerical - Type, file, copy, prepare mailings and perform other general administrative tasks.
Courtesy Van/Montrex - Drive patients to and from the Hospital for appointments or cancer treatments.
Emergency - Act as host or hostess and run errands, transport patients, deliver messages, and make beds.
Escort Service - Transport patients to and from various departments within the Hospital. Deliver lab and X-ray slips.
Gift Shop - Serve on sales staff. Help with gift cart. (Members of Auxillary)
Hospice - Assist hospice patients. Provide office assistance. Educate the public about hospice services and programs. (Requires 20 hours of additional training.)
Information Desk - Provide information and direct visitors to patient rooms and other Hospital departments. Deliver flowers and records. Sort and deliver patient mail.
Laboratory - Help in outpatient department and run errands.
Lifeline - Maintain client records and educate users. Install units in homes.
O.R. Waiting Room - Act as host or hostess to families waiting to see surgeon after surgery.
Patient Relations Ambassador - Interview new patients and assist them with any needs.
Physical Therapy - Make up beds, stack linens and transport patients.
Sewing Room - Sew and repair hospital linens and gowns.
Typists - Type for various Hospital projects.
X-ray/Radiology - Maintain communications for patients waiting to be x-rayed. Transport patients back to rooms.
