Montgomery Hospital Medical Center (MHMC) is a 210-bed hospital situated on two city blocks in the heart of Norristown.
Staffed by more than 1100 health professionals, MHMC is the largest private sector employer in the borough of Norristown.
MHMC includes a comprehensive Cancer Center, certified by the American College of Surgeons and affiliated with the Jefferson Cancer Network; the region's oldest Home Care and Hospice service, accredited by JCAHO; a Women's Center; fully accredited Sleep Laboratory; an Interventional Radiology Suite, the Karabots Center for MRI Diagnostics, Cardiac Catheterization Center affiliated with the Temple Heart Network, comprehebsive Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine Center, Emergency Department and Fast Track Unit and an Occupational Health unit, serving hundreds of area businesses.
Inpatients average 10,000 annually, outpatient visits number more than 100,000 annually with approximately 30,000 emergency visits each year.
MHMC practice group, Fornance Physician Services, Inc., consists of more than 30 specialty physicians and 30 family practitioners with 11 offices located throughout the county, representing more than 80,000 patients; Additionally, MHMC has more than 300 referring physicians on staff.
Two educational components - the Frank Tornetta School of Anesthesia, founded in 1951, and a family practice residency affiliated with Temple University.
