> The Work Center > Back to Work Program > Injury Prevention Program > Staff & Referrals In addition to rehabilitation therapies, The Work Center Injury Prevention Program offers a full spectrum of prevention, evaluation, and screening services designed to help avoid costly workers' compensation claims. This interactive, participatory program educates supervisors and employees on the cause, treatment, and prevention of musculoskeletal and cumulative trauma injuries. Through an evaluation at the worksite, our licensed professionals will show employees how to perform job functions safely, with a focus on protecting upper extremities, lower extremities, neck and back. Services include: Job Site Analysis A preventive measure, the Job Site Analysis involves defining the range of physical and mental demands of a particular job. We will visit the job site and examine all aspects of a job function, including the worker, job tasks, equipment, and processes involved. Assessed in accordance with ergonomic and current safe work practices, we can then make specific recommendations designed to prevent injury or re-injury. Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) This comprehensive, objective test is used to determine a person's ability to perform work-related tasks. Through individualized testing, we evaluate a worker's functional, cardiovascular, and pain levels in accordance with a specific job function. We can also assist in developing guidelines or modifying job tasks for a permanently disabled worker. Post-Offer Screenings Designed to identify workers who may be at high risk for injury or re-injury on a specific job, this ADA-sensitive screening is performed after an employer has made an offer to a job applicant. The worker will be evaluated for musculoskeletal tolerance levels, flexibility, and job-specific functionality.
