First Year Residency
The first rotation is four weeks of rotating clinical experience, to help orient within the hospital and FPC. First year rotations are primarily inpatient rotations at Montgomery Hospital Medical Center. However, they ENT rotation in outpatient based and Pediatrics is an inpatient rotation under the supervision of Children's Hospital of Philadelphia attendings at nearby Grand View Hospital. At Grand View, our residents continue to see outpatients at the Montgomery Family Practice center (MFPC), one session per week. Call responsibilities include 8 five-day blocks of night float distributed throughout the year.

Second and Third Year Residency
The second and third years consist of the block rotations here. Second-year residents average three sessions per week at the MFPC, while third-year residents average four sessions per week in the office. Call responsibilities include 8 five-day blocks of night float. In the office, more emphasis is placed on longitudinal care. There are also more opportunities for office procedures such as minor surgery, sigmoidoscopy, nasolaryngoscopy, colposcopy, and others.
The second and third years include 14 weeks of electives, 8 of which may be completed off-site. Electives may include: Allergy, Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Endocrinology, GI, Hematology/Oncology, ICU/CCU, Indian Health Service, Intensive Care Nursery, ID, Ob/Gyn High Risk, Neurology, Podiatry, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, and Research.
