Individuals living with a chronic pulmonary disease like emphysema, asthma or lung cancer can improve their quality of life by participating in Montgomery Hospital's Exercise and Conditioning program, offered in our state of the art Rehabilitation Center. The Center is located across from the main Hospital in the Professional Building.
Trained therapists will assess your condition and help determine your functional ability and the level of oxygen in your blood during exertion. You will learn breathing and energy conserving techniques to help you breath easier and more efficiently. The Phase II Exercise and Education Program meets two to three times weekly for about one hour for activities such as breathing retraining techniques, warm-up/cool-down stretches and graded exercise conditioning.
Aquatic Therapy Phase III of the pulmonary program involves an Exercise Support Group to help develop habits that will carry you through a lifetime of better living through exercise. The group meets three mornings per week and includes access to our 25-meter therapeutic pool. This self-pay program is less expensive than joining a fitness club, yet offers the advantages of personalized, expert attention and access to a leading edge fitness facility. (back to top) |
