Birthing Center

The more comfortable and stress-free you are during the birthing process, the more rewarding your labor, delivery, and recovery will be. We've designed our maternity rooms so that your entire birthing process takes place in your very own private room emphasizing warmth, privacy and comfort.

Of course, all the equipment needed to ensure the safe delivery and care of your newborn is readily available if needed. Our central fetal surveillance system will give you the security of knowing that baby and mother will be carefully observed whenever continual monitoring is needed during the labor process. You can also depend on us to meet your special medical needs, whether this involves supporting you in natural childbirth, or providing 24-hour anesthesiology services.

Our nursery holds twelve newborn and four Level II NICU featuring state-of-the-art monitoring. Pediatricians and neonatologists are on call 24 hours a day to provide specialized care. While we highly encourage "rooming in", our nursery is on constant surveillance and lockdown to ensure security when babies are in the nursery.

Should your newborn need to stay with us for an extended period, we've made special accommodations for you to remain here as well. Our Parents Nesting Room is private and comfortable, and gives you the ability to stay involved in your baby's care 24 hours a day. The room is comfortably furnished and is equipped with a breast pump, TV and VCR, and full bathroom with shower. Convertible chairs/beds can accommodate moms and/or dads who choose to spend the night in the Parents Nesting Room.

When it's time to take your little one home, we want you to feel as confident and comfortable as possible. Before you go, a maternity nurse will provide instructions for caring for yourself and your baby at home. We also offer newborn channel programs on our patient education channel that you can view on your in-room TV. A variety of postpartum and infant care topics are available in Spanish and English on DVD's that can be brought to your room, to be viewed at your leisure. Your nurse will also tell you about the physical and emotional changes that both you and your baby will go through following birth. We're sure you'll have quite a few questions at this time, and we'll take the time to answer them.
